They're called Iraqis

Ten more American soldiers were killed today in Iraq. Eight of them died near Baghdad in a car bomb explosion that wasn't supposed to happen. Just yesterday, U.S. officials were bragging that by surrounding Fallujah, they've stopped car bombings in Iraq. Here's The Washington Post report on that:

A military intelligence officer noted this week that there have been no large car bombings in Baghdad since the Marines surrounded Fallujah in early April. "Fallujah is a place that is rife with terrorist leaders and bomb-makers who are responsible for attacks not just in Fallujah but across Iraq," the officer said.

Oops! Guess that was wrong! And they've pretty much gotten it all wrong. The anti-U.S. insurgents have been described as "foreign fighters," Saddam loyalists, Al Qaeda allies and whatnot. The latest blather from the Defense Intelligence Agency blames the whole thing on something called "M-14."

. . . . .

I have another name for the people fighting us in Iraq. They're called "Iraqis."
